Filled Bacon Bombs

Are you ready for a real taste explosion? Then this is recipe you want. Easy? Yes. But you have to do something for it. Forming the minced meat cups in particular is a bit of fiddling. But let's just get our hands dirty.



Ingredients for 4 people:


  • 600 grams of ground beef

  • 5 tablespoons dry rub Red Rooster

  • 1 tablespoon dry rub Wild Mustang

  • package smoked bacon (or two if you like extra bacon, get a second thicker pancake bacon for the surrounding bacon)

  • green pepper

  • 1 onion

  • bag of shredded cheddar

  • your favorite brown BBQ sauce

  • side dish: roasted potatoes

  • side dish: raw vegetables such as sliced ​​cucumber, pointed peppers and carrots


Let's get to work!


  1. Light the bbq and make a direct zone and an indirect zone and let it heat up to about 140-150 degrees celcius;

  2. Put the minced meat in a large bowl and mix the Red Rooster spices through it, add a good dash of brown barbecue sauce and finely chop half the packet of smoked breakfast bacon with a knife. Keep 8 slices of bacon behind. Fond of bacon flavor? Then tear open that second package and use some of that too;

  3. Mix the chopped bacon into the minced meat with the spices and the sauce;

  4. Roll 4 firm balls and shape into burgers;

  5. Now comes the hardest part: make it into bowls. Flatten the minced meat with your thumbs in the middle and make a raised edge with your other fingers. Press firmly on all sides;

  6. Take two slices of bacon per bomb and stick them against it as a ring;

  7. Now cut the green pepper and onion very finely and fill the mince bowl with it;

  8. Sprinkle the Wild Mustang herbs on top as a topping;

  9. Place the meat bowls on the indirect part of the BBQ and let them cook slowly for 45 minutes. Now also put the pre-cooked baby potatoes in a skillet on the BBQ on the direct zone as a side dish;

  10. After 30 minutes, brush some more barbecue sauce over the bacon edge with a brush. Sprinkle the grated cheddar on top 10 minutes before the end;

  11. Keep an eye on the potatoes too. If they cook a little too fast, put them on the indirect zone as well.

  12. After 45 minutes you can enjoy these fantastic stuffed bacon bombs!!
